Pros: 37k kilometres, it’s an Evora, located within a ten hour drive of me
Cons: I live in Saskatchewan, no fun colours, it’s still $54,900 CAD for a 2010
I have no idea about good prices for things, but I’ve always liked them. I remember when they first came out. Don’t care if they’re “old” or “British” or “not a Porsche”, I think they’re pretty sweet.

They're not all that British. It's a mid-engined supercharged Camry Coupe!

When you put it like that, I’d be a fool not to buy it!

It has a backseat for eventual children or not. Or friends or not. Or doggos or not. It's pretty much the ultimate utility vehicle.

My lack of amputee friends limits it as a DD vehicle.
I wonder how many people have put baby seats in these?

People can afford them because they don’t have children

I don’t have kids and I still can’t afford it.

Hey, I put 4 adult humans in the 968 - this couldn’t be any tighter, could it?

I put two adult humans and a Ballaban in a FRS

I’ve searched, but there are no drugs that can cure that form of mental illness.
I love these things and wouldn’t mind getting one even though I know it’s probably a bad idea. Maybe I could find a wrecked one - the wheelbase is spot-on to make a modern BMW M1 replica...

Oh, it’s not even a remote possibility for me. But I’m still i nterested.

Yes.

An Evora body kit? We’ve gone full posh above Fiero.
I don’t know what it is about. They Cayman is probably better in every way, but this captures me more.

I’ve seen Evoras before, but not from this particular angl e... Damn, I think I’m in love.

Flip through the photo gallery, the photographer was pretty good.

Think of it as a TRD Camry GT

I’m in agreement - sometimes perfection is overrated.
I was thinking more of a one-off, not really a kit car. I like the M1, but I don’t know if I could justify driving an original - it just seems too valuable . A well-crafted replica? That might be a little easier to live with. The proportions have to be correct or there’s no point. I did a little research a few years ago and found that the Evora is within an inch...

Cool car, build q uality is what has me concerned. Seems like they don't have the best rep.

Absolutely not. But me, 800 kilometres from the nearest dealer, with a British car? It could only go well!

It has something the
GR Supra
doesn’
t have—a Toyota GR engine, with an Edelbro
ck supercharger! It’s what the new Supra should’ve had. All they have to do is rebrand it TRD... ;)

I have had this illness for a while.
They seem like they are somewhere in the limbo between iffy fit and finish, to some aspects of quality control, especially relating to the clutch master cylinder, IIRC... but not truly unreliable in that they don’t seem to break randomly or frequently.
But support for anything more specialized than an oil change can be hard to come by due to rarity of dealerships, and some of those dealerships not giving the slightest care for a rare car that doesn’t serve their bottom line very much.
But inherently, it is an aluminum and composite mid-engine Toyota... kind of like an MR2 built in a non-Toyota small volume factory, and with a top-notch suspension.

We should have a club. That way we can share the cost.

Maybe so... even if early non-S and S cars have depreciated into the 30-45K USD range... still well beyond my price range of about $300-$450.
I have no idea where the nearest Lotus service department is... probably Chicago or Minneapolis... which is more than 450 miles away.
That gray Lotus would look great with the black pack (mirrors, roof, and sills under the doors painted or wrapped black.) and maybe a british green or lotus yellow accent stripe or something to pop a little color.
And they all need a front fascia upgrade to the GT430 version.

You are a man who has put much more thought into this than I. But yes, I 100% agree.
I’ve got $1200 in the new car fund, so together, we’ve got a ways to go.

It's a great idea, as long as you enjoy explaining to people what a Lotus is.
